"That Runaway Man" Tribute
Del Shannon's 1991 posthumous "Rock On!" album, produced by Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, and Mike Campbell, will be reissued through Evangeline Records' sister label, Acadia. Included will be the original 10 tracks, plus the three Silvertone B-sides, "Nobody's Business", "One Woman Man", and "Hot Love." In addition, the previously unreleased "You Don't Know What You've Got (Until You Lose It)", a cover of the old Ral Donner hit, rounds out the complete 1988 'Weddington Sessions' (Let's Dance / One Woman Man / Hot Love / You Don't Know What You've Got) which included three of the five Wilburys. This very special reissue of "Rock On!" finishes with "Songwriter," a rough and raw demo-in-the-works which became Shannon's final composition and was found in his tape recorder at his untimely death. For purposes of historical completion, coupled with the extraordinary strength of this final composition, "Songwriter" is included for the first time anywhere. Available now through Amazon.
